Orange Peel's Pocket by Rose Lewis (Summer Reading)

This story is about Orange Peel. She is from China. Her teacher asked her to figure out about China. Her class asked her a bunch a bunch of questions. She got some very special silk. Ma Sang read her a poem about oceans, mountains, and flowers in China. Then she smelled all the flowers at the shop. Chrysanthemums, Peonies, and Lilies. When she was hungry she went to eat Mr. Yu's Best Noodle making shop. Mr. Yu said long noodles mean long life. Orange Peel had money in her pocket so they went to get ice cream. When getting her money out, all he treasures fell out: a piece of silk, a peony, Mr. Yu's Best Noodle recipe, and a poem from Ma Sang. When leaving the shop, the ice cream lady, slipped something into her pocket. Her pocket was full of treasures.

She had butterflies in her stomach the next day. She was able to show AND tell her class about China using her treasures.
