Go Limpe' News (KB's Newspaper she wrote)

Going to the Movies

KK, Aunt Emily, Katie Beth, and Mommy went to the movies. They saw The Princess
and the Frog. It was good. The best part was the pink girl, Charlotte. She was so hilarious. She laughed me up.

I didn't like the scary parts. It freaked me out. The shadows made me almost cry. Ahhh!

It is a movie for other kids my age.

(KB's newspaper also included football scores, a weather forecast, a Merry Christmas ad, and a picture of Obama in front of an American Flag.)

Chicken Farm: Twigget Farm

Oh, no! A chicken farm.
Oh, no! It stinks, stinks, stinks.
Oh, no! Sound the alarm.
Oh, no! It makes me blink, blink, blink.

(Can you tell that we have been studying rhyming words?)

She also wrote:

Bake, bake, bake a snake.
Bake a snake into a cake.
If you don't like cake,
Make a snake pancake.

A Magic Cap (that gave me a million dollars.....)

My magic cap can give me a pretzel, a pencil, a mommy, and a big sister named Kayla. Also, a million dollars. If I had a million dollars I would buy the earth and Jesus since he is holding the planet.

My mom wishes she were five so life would be simple.

Champ in the Crocodile Water

We took Champ and Charlie to the training school. Champ escaped, and I started to chase him. Champ fell into crocodile water where there were lots of crocodiles. Then, I fell in, since I was chasing him. I tried to get Champ out of the muddy crocodile water. I climbed a rope, but I wasn’t strong enough to hold the rope and Champ. Poppa had to jump in and break all of the crocodile jaws in half. But they had already snapped off my foot. Poppa pulled us out and we had to take a bath in the neighbor’s pool cause we were so muddy. I dried off and stretched, which woke me. Phew, it was just a dream.

Chuck-E-Cheese and a Blue Fairy

Last weekend, I went to Chuck-E-Cheese with Papa. We played games, and I got to slide down on the noisy slide. It was my favorite. We ate pepperoni pizza. It was yummy. After all our games, I got a bracelet that lights up.

Yesterday, I had a loose tooth and it fell out. I put my tooth in a pretty white tooth fairy pillow that Ms. Betty gave me when I was born. The tooth fairy came to my house in the night and left me some money. It was stupendous because I wanted a blue fairy, and she was blue. I left some water beside my bed. She took tiny sips and turned the water blue.

Southern Devil Scorpion

I found a Southern Devil Scorpion in my kitchen. I am afraid that it might give me bad dreams. I am afraid it might pinch me. Papa read to me about this scorpion. It is not that dangerous. Its pinchers are for feeling. Papa let it go in the blackberry patch. I liked it, but it looked scary.

That is all.

Butterfly Princess

Once upon a time there lived a butterfly princess who lived in a castle. She was a person and a butterfly princess. She was magic. She started out in the spring and explodes in the winter. One day she called the pediatrician because her son was really sick. So sick. So, so, sick. HE couldn't even talk. The pediatrician said that the son would be ok. And he was.

Some true.... some false...

Once upon a time, there lived Charlie, Katie, and Emily. They had fun together. They were all 9, but Katie was 10. They went to the park one day. They were fishing there with red nets. They caught tiny fish, crawdads, mud, and seaweed. The two crawfish were brought home to cook and eat for supper.

Also at the creek, Charlie splashed, splunked, splashed, and splunked. Katie walked in the squishy, mushy mud. They threw sticks and leaves into the water to watch them go down the stream.

Jackson came after a little while. He played with Katie in the water. Katie liked to cartwheel and catch leaves. Jackson and Katie touched everything, but Emily was the only one to touch the crawdad. It was a great day at the park.

My Puppies

I love Champ and Charlie because I like them. Champ and Charlie are cute and cuddly. They listen to me when I play with them. I like to play the Georgia game with my dogs. The Georgia game is where we run around in circles in the backyard. Both Champ and Charlie listen to me. When I call them by their name, they come running so I can give them lots of kisses. I kiss Champ on the back and Charlie on his tummy because he rolls over when I tell him to sit. I love my dogs, Champ and Charlie.

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman!

On Saturday, I went to a Fancy Nancy Birthday Party for my friend, Ava. I colored, played, decorated cupcakes, and had a fashion show. The best part was the fashion show. Ava won the fashion show because it was her birthday.

I think that I will have a fashion show at Thanksgiving. I will get some Turkey stuff and we can all dress up like turkeys to see who is the best turkey. I will probably win the turkey fashion show because it will be at my house.

I played and trick-or-treated with Jenna on Saturday.

Halloween

On Wednesday, I went to Trunk-or-Treat with mommy, Jenna, Ann, and Mr. Joey. Poppa had to work. I played lots of games: touch the brain-that was so gross. I went through a corn maze; it was easy. I got some gummies, well, lots of candy at each game. I liked it so much I didn't want to leave.

Today at school, it was Halloween Day. I loved it so much. I wore my Wonder Woman costume. First, we did a costume parade. I got some candy from everyone in the school. I got so much. I wanted to eat it all. It was the most candy I've ever gotten. After the parade, I went to the Ooky, Spooky House. It was scary! I never want to go in there again. There were bats. Finally, we had a party. I ate strawberries, cupcake, cookie, carrots, broccoli, watermelon, blueberries cantaloupe, and tomatoes. I drank swamp juice and ate dirty swamp jello. It tasted like sprite and lemonade. It was so good. I couldn't believe my eyes. I got a purple balloon, but it blew away in the sky. Mommy and Poppa came to my party, and I loved it so good. I was so happy.

Tomorrow is Ava's Fancy Nancy Birthday party. I'll tell you about later.

My Future Plans

When I am finished as a vet, I want to be a traffic director, like a policeman. Then I will be president when I am old like my Neena because when I am old, I will know everything better and can tell people what to do.

(Neena is my great-grandmother who is almost 88.)

Goats on a Roof

On Sunday, Nana, Grampa, and I drove through the mountains, and we went to Goats on the Roof. I was so happy. Guess what I did? I fed the goats in a bucket. The first time I stood up with a bucket of food. Then I rode a bicycle. Riding the bike made the bucket roll up to the goat and was suppose to ring the bell. But the goat was too hungry and the bucket didn't make it to the bell. I love it so much; I didn't want to leave. We ate at McDonald's on the way home. I saw lots of trees on the mountains, and they made me want to go camping and hiking. Today was a great day.

KB's Activities and Stories from Summer 2009

Summer 2009 was a fantastic summer. We visited Memorial Park where we played on the playground and walked around the lake looking for turtles. Also at the park we went up to Bear Hollow where we saw various wild animals. Katie Beth wants to be a “zoo farmer” when she is older.

We also went to two Braves games. The first one was a rain out, but the second was incredible. Katie Beth loved singing "Take me out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch.

Library programs
Mrs. Donna: a local folklore storyteller where KB was able to pick a prop and help tell a story.

Mr. Keith’s Magic Show: A magician and ventriloquist. Mr. Keith told us that his grandson let him borrow a tube he decorated to show the audience something as long as he didn’t show off the little boys’ treasures inside the tube. Mr. Keith said, “Should we open it anyway?” The crowd yelled out a resounding “yes!” Katie Beth turned around and looked at me with huge eyes and said, “He should not open that tube; his kid doesn’t want him to. My Doc would never do that to me.”
I tried to make the situation better by saying, “Oh Kitkat, I’m sure that it is not really his grandson’s tube.”
KB’s eyes were even bigger than before as she exclaimed, “He lied! We are not suppose to tell lies.”

Activities
Swimming Lessons Week of June 8-12. In less than 1 hour KB was pushing off the wall or ground, holding her breath, and swimming. It was amazing. In the second day, KB jumped off the diving board. And July 6-10.

Gymnastics every Tuesday at 3:30 and Thursday at 4:30 (June 3-July 28)

June 24-28 Trip to Clarksville, TN to visit Doc and KK. Neena was there for the long weekend and Emily, Sam, and Noah came to visit on the 27th.

Summer Quotes

Emily: How deep is the pool at school?
KB: Well, mom, it goes all the way to the bottom.

KB: Can we play popsicle?
Emily: What’s that?
KB: You know where you run around and freeze when someone touches you.

A girl at swim lessons asked: What kind of dog is your favorite?
KB: both of themJ

Anxiously awaiting PreK to start KB asked, “when is it tomorrow?” These were the first words out of her mouth when waking up on her own and excited for her first day of pre-“kimberbergarden”
