Junior Naturalist Badge

I'm becoming a Junior Naturalist with the Metro Nashville Parks.

I created a poem about dogs, which are mammals. Here's a picture of the poem I made using Readwritethink.org:
I also made menus for 3 mammals. I had to learn what they ate and create an original menu. Mom said she would take pics and upload them soon.

I also researched the red fox and made an animal cube. I learned that fox babies are called kits, foxes are omnivores, which means that eat just about everything, and that they live all over the northern hemisphere and Australia.

I am halfway to my Junior Naturalist Title. Yay!

Pool... four days in a row

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

On all of these days, I went to the pool. On Friday, I went to the pool because my grandparents were visiting, and they needed a nap. On Saturday, we swam for fun and because it was so HOT. While we swimming, my friends, Ella and Brooke, came. On Sunday, we had time after church without that much to do; we went back to the pool. The first three days I went to my pool.

On Monday, I went to Amy and Keith's for a cookout and swim party. Jazzi and Jrew were there. Here is a picture of Jazzi and me in the pool.

Jazzi is two and and a half, and she swam without anyone holding her. It was amazing! Have you ever seen a 2 1/2 year old swim alone? She even went down the big slide after me! Jrew also went down the big slide. Jazzi and Jrew had to wear life vest on the slide. I did not because I was big enough.

P.S. I REALLY like to swim.

The Hike

Yesterday, my mom was going to Stephanie's for a cookout, and I didn't want to go. Let me back up. In the afternoon, I was at the pool and my friend called me. She invited me to go hiking that night at Radnor Lake. So, I chose hiking instead of going with my mom. I took a ton of pics. Here is one of them:
This is Brook, Ella, and me (this is the order we are sitting in). We saw 1 turkey, 7 deer, and 1 humongous snake.

P.S. I took pictures with my own phone.

Following Directions with Ladybugs

This is a picture I drew of a ladybug by following directions.
1. Two straight lines for antennae if you are not afraid of bugs.
2. Two inch lines for legs if you have ever caught a bug.
3. Have you ever been bitten or stung by a bug? Yes-2 dots on right side.
4. What is your least favorite kind of bug? Yellow Jacket- 4 dots on left side.
5. Would you hold a ladybug? Yes-color body red.
6. If you like most bugs, color the head yellow.
7. If you are going to catch bugs later today, write your name on the top of the paper.

Last Day of School

NOT FUN!

Two days before the end of school, I fell and a chunk of my arm fell out. So on the last day of school, the chunk of skin was still out and my arm hurt.

Another thing that was not fun is that I had to say goodbye to my friends, Arielle and Adam. They are moving, and I will never see them again.

The last day of school was also AWESOME. Ms. Rall, my teacher, gave me a forever pencil. Here's a picture:

I also got a piggyback ride from me. It was hard. First I tried using my leg to carry myself, but it didn't work out so well. So I got someone that looked kind of like me (my twin doll, Kendl) and got her on my back. That worked out ok.

Bugs Picnic Musical (Goin' On A Picnic)

KB (1st Grade) is the 3rd person from left on second row wearing yellow. The lyrics are below is case you have a hard time understanding the kiddos. KB's part is in bold.
-->

Everybody gather ‘round
Gonna have a picnic on the ground
You can bet I’ll be their guest
That’s ‘cause I’m a picnic pest!
Picnic!

Come on let’s have a picnic!
With lots of food that’s fun to eat
Goin’ on a picnic can’t be beat!
Let’s all do a picnic dance
What’s a picnic without ants?
All you have to do is chew,
At the outdoor barbecue

Picnic!
Come on let’s have a picnic!
With lots of food that’s fun to eat
Goin’ on a picnic can’t be beat!

Come on bugs now gather ‘round
Gonna cut a rug here on the ground
Swing that partner that you’ve found
Buzz a-round with a picnic sound!

Bzzzz!  Bzzzz!  Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz!
Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz!
Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz!
